The artist

Emotions form the foundation for creating art.

Kaami sorts emotion in his own way and pairs each feeling with a form. He takes a piece apart to its emotional core, then rebuilds it through a personal method he calls the Zen Technique. The result is a futuristic expression of feeling, and the method keeps changing with each new era of the work.

Wind, water, stone and sky run through all of it. Twenty five years separate Black Lady, painted in 1999, from the watercolours of 2024, and the same pull toward nature and civilization is in both.
